Aquarium Adventures

Anyone ever heard of Aquarium Adventures in Columbus, Ohio? I'm getting ready to go there now. Its about 2 hours north of me. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Here's the link

oh it's a franchise... I wish I could do that. Move up north and open an aquarium store. There are a few pet stores up there but I don't see much for salt. Get a big place like that and advertise to the businesses... yeah, and I'd best hire a couple people who are worth their salt when it comes to salt! lol!

Well, i just got home. I stopped at a total of 6 pet stores. The first being the lfs that i buy everything at, the second being the parent store of the first. They are owned by the same guy. Two petlands, one was actually nice and the guy seemed to know his stuff. Then second was well, a dump. But its the only one i actually bought anything at. I got a porcelain (sp?) crab that was in a very bad situation. He was housed in a very small tank with about 30-40 serpent stars. It happend to be feeding time while i was there. I watched in disbelief as the guy fed the stars live goldfish. He held the fish down with his hand until one of the stars got ahold of it and then he let go. It was like a feeding frenzy. Well, the porcelain crab got mixed up in the mess and was being pinned down by the crazed starfish. I know this sounds crazy, but i saw it with my own eyes. I told the guy to get the crab out right now because i was taking him home. He's floating in a bag in the tank now.

Anyway, the point of this post.... I went to Aquarium Adventures and WOW!! This is a very nice place, but the prices are triple what i would pay locally for livestock. They had a HUGE selection of tanks though, from 2.5 gallon all the way up to 210 gal. Very nice and the prices on tanks werent that bad.

But anyway, that's what i did today. If anyones ever near an Aquarium Adventures, its worth it to just stop in and look. They have some very nice display tanks set up, and the dry goods were reasonably priced.

P.S. The sixth store was called Jacks Aquarium And Pets. Seemed to know what they were talking about and had very nice, very clean display tanks. Large selection of fish.
