Aquac urchin keeps overflowing?

I purchased a aquac Urchin pro last week to replace the bak-pak 2r. It has been running for a week and it keeps filling extremely fast. I have the O-ring all the way down to the drain fitting to get as least amount of water that I can. However it will fill up the 1 liter bottle that I have the drain line going to. It will do this in about an hour's time. I have taken the oring off and put it on from the bottom of the collection cup so I can raise it higher and then it will not produce anything in the cup. It is like the drain line fitting was drilled in the wrong place? cause about perfect would be where the drain line sits. It started overflowing as soon as it was hooked up last week. The skimate color looks like light green tea. Does anyone ahve any exp. with this skimmer? The pump on the skimmer is a mag 3.

I am not familiar with that particlular skimmer...but my experience has been that when the 'cup' is filling with water too fast (not skimmate but a mix) I have had a clogged airline/venturi. does this have air injection at the input on the mag or does it mix somewhere else? Do you have a quick pick of the main cup you could post?

no pic and induction is about 18 inches high from the pump.

double check the line for good air flow and then use what ever adjusts the water height in the main chamber to lower it just a bit if the airflow is good.

Again..I have seen this issue two ways...airline restricted..adn water flows up into the collection chamber...or water height adjusted too high...and the water flows up into the collection chamber...the first has been more true in my experience.

Give them a call. They are so nice I bought a use Aqua C Remora Pro on E-bay and it was missing the O-ring and there was no screw to clean out the tip and they sent both for free.If they can't tell you whats wrong and it's new they'll send you one right away to replace it.

Im getting ready to buy one of these, I hope the skimmer works better than the one on my skilter 250... I want to do water changes and see clear water.. not light brown water, but I hope it does like like tea and pulls out the really bad stuff in short fashion... this is $163 hope its worth it..
