AquaC Remora Pro HELP

Hey everybody,
I'm out of town (away from my tank) for 2 more days. My roommate called me and told me that the Mag 3 pump had fallen off the skimmer and was blowing crap all over the tank (its probably the best flow my tank has ever had). I had the pump secured with the two locking rings that come with it, and when I got it, everyone else on here seemed to have done the same. Just wondering if anyone has better suggestions on how to keep it up? I had my roommate stack up some rock and prop up the pump, but it didn't last very long. The pump is just sooo heavy! When I get back, I will be doing some major aquascaping and I'm really hoping that the changes I've been making lately help my tank pull a 180.

lucky it didn't start shooting water in the air like a geyser...Mine Did!
What a mess.

I secured real tight using 2 heavy zip ties at the top where the pipe connect to the tube.
I also have the skimmer box which is a big help with those pumps.
The box is secured to the top lip of the tank with silacone...it never moves.

and a pair of pliers to pull that zip tie tight. A new rubber hose couldn't hurt if it's old, it might hold stronger.

you can grab them on ebay or just do a search.
But beware, they are a pain to dial in...if you don't have an auto top off system.
I don't and have pretty much got it under control but can't be away from the tank for more than 12-16 hours or i need to add top off water.

i could maybe modify it so that water comes into it a lower levels too, rather than just the top? or does that defeat the purpose?

defeats the purpose... it's to skim the top of the water where more particles accumulate.
I just took mine off because of evaporation problems... we'll see how it goes.
