aquac ev series skimmer any good?
my sump/stand is so small but I want to upgrade my corallife to something else that will fit in the sump,
I think the aquac ev 120 will fit but is it work the 350 bucks to get it?
Who else out there uses em? any luck with them?

I have heard good and bad, more good than bad though. Personally I would with a G3 before the aquaC EV 120 though, and a Beckett before either, but beckett skimmers take up a bit of room.
What size tank?

only a 60 gall, but my current skimmer is a corallife 65, It does skim pretty well but I don't think its big enough,
My main goal is to keep it in the sump and as quiet as possible, I really wanted a MRC one but the box won't fit in sump,
Whats a good way to hook something up externally and to avoid an overflow?

HAve you talked to ANdy at MRC. He will custome build you a skimmer that will fit in the sump.
AquaC makes good skimmers I have never used one but have seen them in action. I have an ASM and I really find it hard to beleive that there is a better skimmer out there for the $$$$.

Had one on my 90g that someone gave me and I passed on later. It worked pretty well.

why does it have to be in the sump? could you run the pump external and the skimmer in the sump? could you run both external?
i would check with Andy, he can work with your problem.

I mainly want it in sump so there is no chance of overflows, whats the deal with the recirculating skimmers? Hmmm pump external but skimmer inside sump, I never though of that,
If there is a way to put it outside of sump thats fine with me as long as I can make it overflow proof somehow.

The beckett skimmers with the MRC collection container will shut down when the container gets full. This prevents overflows from over skimming, and I have tested it

no kidding, so MRC is the way to go, thanks appreciate the insight, now if you don't mind, why/how does it prevent an overflow?

I would say you can get away with a AM G1x or G2 and you are looking at under $250 for a tank that size. You do need about a square foot in the sump for the G2 though...
I think the one you are looking at is overkill, I know you cannot ever skim too much, but if money is an issue look into ASM. the G2 is rated for 150 gal and should be fine on your 60gal. I have one on my 125 gal and it does great.

The Remora would be awesome for a 30g.
