Anywhere I can get test kit reagents?

Ok so apparently I left the cap off of my Red Sea calcium test kit "Reagent B" and it dried out. I have plenty of "A" because I've only done a few tests with it. My question is, is there anywhere I can just get the one reagent because I really don't want to buy a whole new kit. Thanks.

Try emailing them and see if they will send you a new one. I know Seachem would if it was one of their kits.

They sent me some note saying they dont keep seperate reagents on-hand (yeah right, then take one out of a box you are filling), and something else about older reagents not working with newer test kits (not sure how that matters). Basically said I needed to buy a new test kit. May as well just buy a SeaChem one then and not give them any more business.

Hmmm that's odd. Guess customer service isn't their strong suite. I've seen Red Sea reps at trade shows and never got a warm fuzzy feeling - it was all I could do to get them to write up an order of a few things at a discount for me

Where I used to work we used Red Sea tests all the time. I found them to be accurate enough, and we mixed reagents all the time - run out of one reagent, pull a box from the shelf with a new kit and we had umpteen bottles of reagents on the go...

In my place I use Seachem tests for in-store and in-field water testing and they send me reagents. Ditto if a customer has had one reagent spill or go bad (see my "hockey puck" reference in the Seachem Calcium Test thread), they will send a replacement.

Not sure about in your market, but here Seachem and Red Sea are price competitive. So is Salifert for that matter.

I am not the biggest fan of Red Sea chems, and based on past experience could not get a straight answer from them. I guess I am a big advocate for "our local boys" Kent and Seachem. I bought a test kit with Cal Titration drops almost empty from a small pinhole in the kit and they replaced it free, had to pay shipping to send the old container back but they sent me a brand new test kit.

Kent doesn't make test kits... I keep bugging them that they need to

I do like Seachem tests though - the fact that they are local to us is a "bonus"!

I'll probably pick myself up a SeaChem test kit, I need to stop by the LFS then.
