Anyone use a Little Giant 3 MDQ-SC or similar pump?

I need an external pump for a closed loop. I am looking for a pump to go to a Sea Swirl and put out roughly 600-700 GPH.

The pump will be on the floor giving it at least a 4 ft head and it will have some 90 bends in the plumbing.

LITTLE GIANT 3 MDQ-SC

Any other recommendations?

The Little Giant pumps are good but they can be fairly noisy... I ran a 4-MDQX-SC under my 120 and it put out a it's fair share of noise... Dolphins are pretty quiet. If you don't have to go external I would recomend a mag.

I had a Little Giant 3-mdqxsc as a return pump on a 90 reef for many years with 0 problems. I bought it used and when I sold it, it was 8-9 years old and still going strong. They are not the quietest pumps but not that bad either. Bob

Excellent pumps. Mine is a bit noisier than the Mak4. I find it one of the best pressure models. Seems you can pipe everywhere and still keep excellent flow.

i have one for my return pump. I have only had it for the last month tho. I got it to replace a burned out quiet-one pump. It is a little nosiey but seems to have more flow then what it is rated for. So i now use it to feed my refugium too
So far I think it is excellenta'....
