I would not bet that those corals are going to be in the $5 section... maybe the zoa, but not the acans. Also note the eggcrate behind the corals. They look very small and shot under full actinics... so the color will be very different in more "natural" lighting. In addition their "strike-out" price advertising is misleading. My guess is that they are a chop-shot that trans-ships/buys large pieces and then takes them to the saw. Just my guess. I personally would keep to liveaquaria (and a few more local choices) if I had to order online.

Here is an argument they got into at a different site

Thanks for doing research in finding that thread. It can't be fun to be a vendor and have people bash you on a fish site. i guess if i do order the frags i want ill do a small order first to see if its worth it.

what are egg crate squares, .5"? if so those frags are really small, but for $5 and looking that good (not dying) I would buy them at my LFS. (I still have not got anything live online)

It is not, but at least it is an avenue for some recourse for bad vendors. My personal favorite was that they offered 2 day shipping for one poor soul and appears to still offer ground shipping... who would offer that for livestock?!?!? (and I actually put some coral into my cart and calculated the shipping options they gave me.

Nothing says quality like "we will meet you at a Walmart for a $10 fee" ... ouch

Edit: they only take cash at pickup... wow... this keeps getting better.

I will almost bet they do not have a business license or store-front. Yep, it looks like it is out of a garage/basement and they likely chop corals.

Wow lol "Future doc" needs to do some research and realize that: 1. You have to have a business license to even buy from wholesalers or they wont sell to you. 2. 90% of the online Coral sellers out there sell from there home. look at Jason fox. He also has CUT TO order frags lol. 3. Walmart is a heck of alot easier to find than our home in the middle of the woods 15 miles from town. Also its a safer enviroment for me and the customer. Do you like a bunch of random people coming to your home? 4. about 90% of our frags are $5 5. Ground shipping is offered for the people in the surrounding states since its the same as overnight shipping to those states. 6. We dont have a basement or a garage but are adding on a 600sqft fishroom this spring. 7. Quit overpaying for coral. I feel sorry for you if your paying liveaquarias prices. ouch.

I don't think this thread is going anywhere.

Saltcritters has been around for some time. the original poster really needs to settle this with Saltcritters and not here on the forum.

I am going to close this thread
