Anyone know if BLACK reefsafe substrate exists?
Just wondering could you imagine a black silicone tank, with a black stand with a black background, filled with zoanthids, blastos, a sun coral or similarly bright corals and some neon bright fish?
i'm imagining it would be pretty neat.
i don't think i have ever seen pictures of one that someone has put together...
has anyone tried something like that, considered it or know someone who has?

From Marine and Reed dawt com:
Aragamax Sugar Sized Sand 0.2-1.2 mm grain size. Also known as " oolitic sand," this product is ideal for shallower beds, allowing dentification in as little as 1" depth. The fine grain size can pass easily through the gills of gobys and other sand sifting organisms. White in color and metal free. No ash or silica.
30 pounds $26.00
Tahitian Moon Jet black sand. Can be used in freshwater or saltwater. Will not affect pH.
20 pounds $17.00
About 2x as much as Southdown, but just a few cents more per # than Aragamax (if i'm using the calculator right) ....
i think its worth considering, but i wonder what it would look like if it gets algae all over it?

ROTFL - true very true
IB, there's a few people around here that have tried it and ended up hating it. It gets to be this olive, reddish, brown and shows every speck of dirt and coral chip.
