I think it comes to Quality and if you are will to take a chance on something you don't know about, I like to stick with the brand names that I know and the ones that have been doing reef lighting for years.

ooohhhh... Good point... I never thought of them being used. I'll have to ask and find out. I think if they're new i'll give em a shot. IF they dont last long im not out much money. They have to be better than the year old ones i have now it theyre new

Well, i got the lights. They actually look really good. They were brand new. The only difference i can see is the tubes arent as fat as the current usa bulbs i had before. The 10k is very bright and makes the tank look a lot better than my old bulbs. If they only last 6 months its still cheeper than paying 44.95 each at my lfs.

from what i have seen with my own tanks, the spectrum they give off starts to change.
the ones one the70 gallon started to turn the tank a green color . also they may flicker or you can staet to see weird alga growth

Ok, i'll make note of today's date and see how long they last. I hope they last a while. I sure like the look of pure 10k. I had a 50\50 before and the tank looks so much brighter now.
