anyone have a aqua c ev series skimmer?

my aqua c ev120 makes millions of micro bubbles. It's 16 mounths old so it's broken in. I have baffles in my sump but they only stop the bigger bubbles.i also have a prefilter sponge on my return but still millions of micro bubbles.what gives?

Im not familiar with that skimmer but try to isolate the skimmer outfeed/drain however it releases the water....possibly create a partition that will force the water out of your skimmer to do 90% "debubbling" if thats a word before the water can continue on in your sump. The baffles should take care of the rest. The prefilter sponge is for debris.....once they fill up with bubbles (which takes minutes if you have a bubble problem) they are worthless, or nearly worthless for stopping bubbles.

Heres a pic. That 1 1/2 pipe cpmong in from the side with the ventstack is my skimmer drain. Ive got a 4" x 4" partition there with teeth at the top so the water is forced to rise and lose most of the bubbles before even entering the main part of the sump. the teeth help as well but not necessary. Im sure your skimmer doesnt drain like this but as long as you could isolate it in the same way it should fix your problem enough that the baffles kill the rest.

hth

ps- i just took that pic and am cleaning my needle valve at the moment......when its running that 4 x 4 chamber is white with bubbles

Welcome to TRT Fatboyjoe. You'll find all kind of good info here. I have an EV-150 and it does produce some bubbles, but as Flyguy said if you use some kind of baffle system it forces them to the top. Can you give us pictures of your set up? It makes it easier to offer suggestions.

I have the EV240, but I have been fortunate never to have had this problem.

I can't think of a way to fix this...sorry...but if you email customer service at www.proteinskimmer.com, I am sure they can help you.

Do you have one of the older ones or the new upgraded ones? Mine is the older one and only makes a few that my baffles seems to handle. Of course my skimmer outflow is about four feet from the return pump inflow.
