Anybody use the Euroreef ES series yet?
Seems everyone loves the Euroreef skimmers....I was thinking of buying the CS6-1 when I noticed that premium aquatics also sells a ES5-3 for about $80 less. Just wondering if anyone has used the new ES series and what do you think?? Looked them up on the Euroreef site and this is the difference:
The ES skimmers are identical in design and function to the CS Series. The primary difference is that the CS Series are hand crafted with cell cast acrylic tube and are welded to 3/8" PVC plate while the ES Series protein skimmers are hand crafted with extruded acrylic tube and glued to cell cast acrylic sheet material. They are assembled with the same attention to detail as the CS Series. The same pumps, impellers and custom made parts used in the CS Series are also used in the ES Series

I have the ES5-3 on my 58 and I love it. Pulls out tons of skimmate and easy to adjust and it remains set. I don't have to keep adjusting the skimmer everyday.

I read on the website that the ES series has been discontinued in favor of the RS series skimmers; supposedly in the same pricepoint.

I have both the ES and CS series skimmers and can't tell a difference between the performance on them.

www.premiumaquatics.com seem to have the best prices while still being listed on Euro-reefs website as a certified seller.

www.h2otropicals.com sells blem Euro-reef skimmers. I have one from them. The only thing I foung wrong was a drip trail of glue inside the waste cup. They carry a full factory warranty.

Well I went and looked these up. The ES5-3, ES5-2 are made for 75 Gallons. The CS6-1 is made for 100 Gallons.
I think that might be the price difference??

Actually I thought the ES5-2 was for 75 gal....while the ES5-3 is rated at either 90 or 100 gal depending on what site you look at.

Also, the CS is made out of cast acrylic, which is more expensive, instead of extruded. The ES is made from extruded, but I haven't seen a difference in performance.

I also have the ES5-2 on my 58gallon. It is a great skimmer pulls out some real nasty/smelly skimate. I got mine from H2O tropicals as a blemished unit and saved a little $$$.
