Any Problems With This Stocking List?
I would like to add some fish to my 55 gallon tank. Below is a list of some things I want and some I already have. I don't plan on getting all of them but I would like to mix and match and end up with about 10-12 fish and I just want to know if any of these fish cannot be housed with each other.
2 Ocellaris Clowns (Have)
3 Firefish (Have)
1 Scooter Dragonete (Have)
1 Yellow Clown Goby (Have)
1 Royal Gramma (Have)
4 Yellow Tail Damsels (Have but will probably get rid of)
1 Flame Angel
2 Bangaii Cardinalfish
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
1 Gold Head Sleeper Goby
1 Sixline Wrasse

You have more fish in your 55 than I do in my 190 with 300 total gallons of water and I was thinking that I was about 70% full

Yeah I was thinking that I might have too many fish but then again they are all really really small fish. The damsels are probably going to go though. They were only in there to make sure that my cycle was done, and it was so they will probably go. What kind of fish do you have in your tank? Big ones like Tangs and Angels?

I would get rid of the damsels and pick up that flame angel. I recently picked up a flame angel for my tank and the color and personality of the fish is just great.

Without trying to sound like a jerk, I think you are kinda full right now.

As others have suggested I think your stocking list is a bit much. My experience would argue that a 55 is fine for about 5-6 smaller/medium size fish.

I don't plan on having them all maybe just two.
I'll probably get rid of the damsels pretty soon. And maybe get a fish or two. Or not. Apparently I am full.

if i added correctly as of now you have 12 fish total. Thats too many you are maxed imo.
as for the gobies getting along the clown goby will get along with the other goby. since the yellow watchmen is more of a bottom dweller and the clown goby is not.

i'd say you are pretty well maxed out with the size tank you have with your current livestock..if you are getting rid of the Damsels... i wouldn't get anything else, you are still maxed out with 8 fish..

thats about as many as I have in my 265 g:
1 large Naso tang
1 med yellow tang
1 med hippo tang
4 firefish
1 LNhawk
1 6line wrasse
2 anthias
1 med blue throat trigger
3 damsels I can't trap
2 large chromis
1 goldstrip clown
1 ocellaris clown
my nitrates and phosphates are pretty low with my water capacity. How are your levels. I suppose as long as your levels are low and you are doing lots of water changes and not overfeeding you are OK

I thought that stocking was based on the size of fish and not how many there are? I'm pretty sure that 1 Large Naso Tang creates more waste than most, if not all of my fish combined. 6 Damsels are going to produce a lot less waste than one 6 inch tang. Is that not true? Everyone looks happy to me. All of the fish I have are about an inch to an inch and a half except two of the Firefish that are 2 inches long. If there are too many then I'll get rid of the Damsels and put a few fish in my 20 that is running empty right now.

Oh and I change 5 gallons every week and 15 at the end of the month. My levels are all at zero. I check them every two days just to make sure.

it's not how big they are now, but how big they will be in the future. you will probably end up with like 30" of fish (nbot including the Damsels) by the time they reach adulthood. for me, i try to stick to no more than 3" of fish for every 5 gallons... and that's the max. and usually not that much
