Any Midwest Reefers Out There

I'm trying to find out if there are any other midwest Reefers located around me. I am always on the lookout for a new place to go check out, and new peeps to get ideas from. I live in Central Iowa, and alot of the places around here are getting kinda boring as they never get anything new/interesting in. Anybody from around here feel free to say hi in here/give me some ideas of where to look around at. I love checking out LFS near and far, gives me ideas as to what to do with my tanks.

Well, there are a few good reef stores here in the twin cities. You could make a weekend trip out of it. Also, we have an active reef club that meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. If you want to e-mail me, I can give you some names of the good reef stores

Hey Wagnutz69,

I'm in Waterloo and new to reef keeping. Have you been to Saigon Aquatics in Mason City? I've been going to The Fish Shack in Manchester, probably a little far for you, good prices.

Hey DryFLy!
I used to go to a place in Waterloo...can't remember the name. It is on Almond I believe, it used to be a chicken slaughterhouse. All they did was freshwater, but great fish!

Hey Wag,

Fellow reefer from Nevada, IA (just east of Ames). Check out "Under the Sea" in Des Moines if you haven't already. New location and usually have quality stuff. A guy named
"Chris" that works there has been in reef tanks for years in Des Moines and is a pretty knowlegable dude. Also, "Adam's Aquatics" in Des Moines. I would agree with a previous post that a trip to Minneapolis is worth the drive for some items.

I have a few other buddies with Reef tanks in the area, but always nice to hear there are more nearby!
