Another ID Needed please


Ok this one is growing out the bottom of the red candy cane corals it plates out like a monti cap and it is hard. It is a maroon color. Both pics were takin with flash and my lights wont come on for another 4 hours to try and get another clear pic if needed.

Forgot to mention it grew that big which is about 1" in about a week which a little fast for monti caps to grow

If it's got little polyps, I would vote for a monti. Could be an algae.

I have seen a brown type of seaweed that grows like that. not sure what it is called

No little polyps so might be a type of algea, is it a bad algea or a good one or an ok one? Because it looks cool heheh

Looks like brown waffer algae to me especially with that growth rate

I think i will keep it for now looks kinda cool in a way how it plates out like a monti and it grows fasts hehe it is a darn maroon color right now so it is kinda cool looking hehe. If anyone asks thats comes over and looks at the tank what that ohhh that is the green candy cane, what that ohh that is the pinky tree coral, what that ohh that umm yeah that is a maroon monti
