Only frozen silversides.
There's no benefit to feeding live feeders like goldfish.

Mine won't hang on to anything I try to feed it. It will close on a piece of food and then let it go. Would something be wrong or is there a trick to feeding??

If it's not hungry it won't accept food.
Do you have clowns hosting in it? If so they are also likely to feed the anemone.
Are you thawing the frozen before you feed it (sorry if it's an elementary question - I had a customer freeze-burn an anemone feeding it frozen frozen!).
It's not likely to eat flakes - too small. What other foods have you tried?

I've tried raw shrimp (which he ate a small piece when I first got him 2 weeks ago), silversides, sand eels, frozen brine ect.
Don't worry about the elementary as I am very new to reefing (6mos), but yes I take water from the tank in a small cup and let it thaw completely.
He looks ok, but has not reattached to anything and stays in the same area. I will post a pic...

What specie of anemone is it? You've had it 2 weeks - has it attached to anything yet?
What sort of lighting do you have? Please provide a bit of info on your overall tank setup and parameters.
I'll keep an eye open for the pic

The tank has been doing very well...No losses as of yet. Low bio-load and has been up and running for 6-7 mos now.
1 scooter
2 false percs
1 linka
1 choc chip starfish
1 serpant star
snails and hermits
RBTA
live rock.
I spk to several different lfs's and they all told me I could keep the RBTA under lower lights. This one was at the lfs for a couple of weeks before I purchased and was doing ok there.
