it depends on what you call normal? it is really difficult to figure out what is going on in that neural net of theirs.

what is prolly happening is that it has found a spot that it likes. now you have to figure out why it likes that spot. more likely than not it has to do with the current. either this is where the current pushed it so it stayed or the current is flowing in a way that the anemone feels it will have the greates chance to capture food. see if you can replicate that current in a better spot where the anemone can get some light. you might need to suppliment its feeding, if it stays under the rock.

Ditto on what Geoff said

Don't try to pull it out from under the rocks; handle anemones as little as possible.

How long has it been in your tank?

it's fairly new, as far as current goes-where he is at is a low current spot, I'll just sit back and hopefully he will come around

mine has done the same, it seemed to be doing well for a few weeks; now its been hidden for a while, thought they liked the light! i fed it 3 times a week so now i'm thinking maybe it didn't need it as i was told they can pretty much live on nutrients in the tank. Should i help him out and move it or leave it alone, don't want him to perish!! Please help
