Question

Anemones and non-anemone fish

I have noticed that my tangs (vlamingi and a purple) like to hover just above the LTA in my tank. Low enough that the tentacles are above the fish. I'm always worried they are going to get caught one day. I actually had a sailfin get caught, but I didn't see it happen so I'm not sure if it was doing the same thing at the time. Has anyone else noticed this type of behavior?

My LMB used to get real close to my anemone. A few time he would brush up on the tentacles. He never was caught though and nor did it seem to harm him.

I'm not sure this is a good answer or not, but...

I would think it would only take one good zap for the fish to learn that that's not a good place to chill.

If they haven't learned yet, I would think that maybe they're not getting zapped.

My blue tangs flirt with the 3 BTAs in my 120 (I started with one BTA )

The tangs have been in captivity about 8 years now - nearly 5 with me - no issues yet (knocking on wood)....
