Question

Anemone Shedding

I have a large Ritteri Anemone, about 8-9 inches across. This is not the first time this has happened but I am just wondering. Every once in awhile, I find a small tentacle from the anemone on my sand bed. What could be the reason for this? Budding?

Thanks

When my condy was loosing tenticles turned out to be the maroon that was hosting it was biting them off.

I've heard of clowns doing the same thing.

I moved the maroon to a fowler tank and the tenticles have started growing back and Pinky is doing fine. He even opens more now. I don't know for sure of the long term health of your anemone if he is being nipped on. Seemed to be stressing mine out so I just started yet another tank.

Mine doesnt seemed to be stressed at all. I has plenty of tentacles and has been growing. Maybe my maroon is just doing some trimming.
