Question

Anemone Behavior

My anemone was fully open during lights out. I turned on my lights this morning and now he is shriveled up. What are some possibilities?
Thanks,
Brian

Have you been adding any Calcium supplements directly into your main tank such as Bio-Calcium or any other additives as I had the same problem when I started to add Bio-Calcium.

I was adding it too quickly as it comes in a powder form & the current was driving it at the anemone who didn't like it at all & I thought I lost it because it stayed shrivelled up for a couple of days as they are very sensitive creatures.

Also I would check all your water parameters are ok just in case.

If all parameters are well then I would just keep an eye on it for a couple of days as they do this I believe from time to time but I have only witnessed it either when it's moving into a more suitable position in the tank or it's been irritated by something either by another inhabitant or as I mentioned earlier.

Let us know.
