Anemone Assistance, Please?

(from a previous thread where I described my anemone climbing into my powerhead!)

You are absolutely right. I turned off the powerhead, and turned it upside-down. And what did the little (insert expletive here) anemone do?

Well, he climbed all the way inside of the powerhead. So, I have since removed the "cover" (the grated part of the powerhead), and left it against some rocks for it to crawl out.

Okay, long story short: it has not yet come out, but it has shifted around enough for me to be able to tell that it is no longer an "it", but a "they" - it must have chosen this time to split into two anemones.

Now, THAT's crazy. I have it right in front of some heavy flow, and hopefully it will crawl out soon.

If it does NOT come out soon, how do I "handle" the anemone? Can I touch the "foot" without getting too much contact? I thought someone said something about using an ice cube to get it to move? Help!?

I would just stay patient on this. If they are healthy enough, they will get out themselves. Handling an anemone is a last resort.

i agree, leaving it alone will be the best thing for it. what you have done so far sounds very good. it will move, if it is splitiing then it will wait until it is done.

use thick gloves never handle one with hands, some are really deadly. & most will cause skin reactions. aqua-gloves are a good choice. but i really wouldnt worry about him..they never stay in one place..he will come out eventually
