Amphipods???


I have recently notice an explotion of Amphipods in my 4 month old 100g reef tank are these good , bad , is there anything that preys on them?

They're a good thing.

And lots of different things prey upon them.

well, unfortunately i saw a bunch of them for a while..then they all disappeared. not quite sure why.....

Why would you want to kill off something that most people will pay big bucks to try to culture? These are beneficial creatures that help to clean up your system.

Im not looking to kill them off - I and still kinda new to reeef keeping, and am curoius about them - at night, I see thosands of them every were - my tank is exploding with them, all different sizes!

What do you have that eats them - I dont believe that I have anything that hunts them at night!

Once in a while one will blow out of the filter during the day, and my clown grubs it!!

Well they are about the lowest thing on the food chain so I would say about anything that is in your reef will prey upon them. Fish, inverts, etc. Johnny
