absolutely YES!, I have their salinity one too. I like MarineDepot but it's cheaper on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/American-Marine-...QQcmdZViewItem

Yes they are a great product. If you get one be very careful with the probe b/c if you break one of the little plastic pieces it will give false readings, and they are very delicate!

are you asking about the monitor unit? or the calibration fluid (which your link points to).
Doesn't matter.
both GREAT products! Make sure you get the A/C adapter though. Batteries are SOOO stone aged!

Ditto on all of the recommendations. It's one of the best pieces of equipment that I've purchased. As for calibration fluid, yes, it's definately necessary. Mine came with one packet each of 7 and 4. I would recommend the 7 (of course) and 10. You could also use 7 and 4. The PinPoint suggests a dual calibration, you can't go wrong with that. I would get enough fluid to have some on hand for monthly recalibrations.

Definitely a must have. Given how often and how fast pH can change, test kits are useless. The pinpoint pH monitor is a good way to go. I've had mine for a year and it seems to give me accurate readings. Whenever I recalibrate it, i see that's it's still pretty dead on.
Get a bunch of calibration packets. Get like 10 of each. At $1 a piece, it's not too bad and a good thing to have around in case you need to urgently validate the reading the unit is giving you.

A superior unit, best of the hobbyists' pH meters, AI own several and ther pH controllers for the Ca reactors. I have the Calcium meter as well.
