I seriously considering get one of these monitors. But first i need to find out from everyone what they do. I know they measure REDOX in the tank. What is REDOX? And do i need ozone to run one of these? I have also read that these meters will show problems even before they take affect on the livestock in the tank. What are normal REDOX readings?

With both these, and PH monitors I always reccomend getting a controler rather than a monitor that way if you decide to control Redox in the future you can still use your equiptment.

Redox is O2 potential, some things like elevated organics can drop this, that cues you in that your skimmer is not doing it's job. You can also use it to control an ozone generator and help prevent an overdose.

I personally don't use one, and don't see a need on my system.
