almost murdered my tank

last week at work we had a power outage for about an hour. when it came back on i did not notice the pump i have pushing water to my chiller had not primed and was not circulating. i came into work sunday to check on things and realized the tank was warm (80). so i found the problem and got the filter to prime.. big mistake within seconds my tank was saturated with stagnant water that smelled like rotten eggs. my fish started freaking out. my sebae swelled up the size of an orange and was just free floating. and all my corals closed. i quickly did a 50% water change and added 2 bags of carbon. in an hour every thing was back to normal.

this was a close call and i'll be more wary in the future

I wonder also what would have make the water so nasty inside the chiller.

I'm kind of curious...what do you normally keep the temp at if 80 degrees alarmed you?
