Cool

all day lighting?

I just setup a ATS on my tank and have heard that it is good to have the lights of the scrubber on at night because this stabalizes the PH. How is it that lighting affects the PH of the water?

Also, I have been leaving the lights of the ATS on 24/7 to boost the growth but I'm wondering what affect, if any, that this will have on the algae. Does algae require a night period for healthy growth?

I can only reply to your first question. The pH at night usually drops because there is no photosynthesis. So, if you run ur lights at night over the scrubber, it promotes photosynthesis and cause the pH not to drop off...hence more stable pH. It's acts just like those of us who dose kalk at night.

The box said "Use Win 95 or better", I chose better so I run OS/2!
