algea algea everywere
Hi gang!
It's been a long time since I've been here. But now I have a BIG problem with algea. I moved back in june 03 and had to breack down and set back up my 110G. tank the move went good ,but now I have a algea problem. I've tryed turning the lights of for a week twice, but it just seems to get worse. Also the bubble algea is going crazy to. I've tryed red slime remover and that helped with the red slime but that was it. The red slime remover had made my zoanthid polyps shrink and with water changes still have not come back. can someone plese help THANK YOU
Ken.

get a sea slug, like a dolabella. they will have your tank looking top-notch and algea free in as little as two to three weeks. i had a hair algea problem once, and this sea slug was amazing (as amazing as a sea slug can be!), it didn't damage a single coral, and removed all the problematic algea from the tank.

I just won a long fight against against green hair algae. My problems were multifold. I had Crushed coral, i did not clean my canister filter (I thought I wasnt supposed to), I used tap water, and I didnt have a good clean up crew. Since then and two months later, I have almost no algae. I began using only ro/di water, added a good deal of snails and hermits, and changed my substrate to sand. I also scrubbed the algae off the rocks with a small brush. I did this twice. The first time helped and some algea grew back, but none has returned since the second scrubbing. Perhaps one of my problems may be the cause of yours. Identifying the source is the best first step.
Good luck!!
