algae scraper

I am needing something to clean my glass. I have one of the magnetic scrapers and it fell off too much everytime I moved it. My glass is 1/2" and I got one of the stick held kind. When I got close to the sand it picked some sand up and scratched my glass. This made me mad, I have a new tank with scratched glass right in the front. What is a brand that will be strong enough to stay on the glass when I move it around?

I can't remember what the brand was, but it was blue green in color. Everytime I moved it the crazy thing would fall off. I guess the magnet wasn't strong enough. I liked the idea of how it would work if I could get it strong enough to stay on.

that was the only problem was that the magnet wasn't strong enough. You need to get one that is rated to, or IMO stronger, than your aquarium glass thickness.

I had a hammerhead but just do it old school with a razor blade now. The scraper did not really do a bang up job on the little green algae film.

The skimmer isn't set right yet. At least I don't think it is. I am only pulling junk out of the water every once and a while. I have Geoff helping my with it to see what I can do to get it going.

Yes the only problem was the magnet wasn't strong enough to hold it together on the glass.

mag floats are good ones and the big ones are really strong magnets ive hurt my finger on mine being pinched in between em lol and the inside half floats so if you drop it if float up to the top but i use a razor blade most of the time too like phishnoob said

My tank is 28 inches deep so I can't use a razor blade. I would if I could though. That would be easier than having to find something else.
