Algae Blenny/Lawnmover blenny

I am looking at getting one of these, but I read they may nip on clam mantles and i have a clam... anyone ever have this trouble with them

I need one that is going to eat hair algae, online is say macroalgae, like the thin film stuff i think..

Anyway anyone got one that eats the hair algae, or can anyone recommend a suitable size fish for a 30G that would eat hair algae...

I already have a clownfish and a clown goby and various janitors...

I have a lawnmower in my SPS + Clam tank. No problems ever, love it, one of my favorites.

I have a lawnmower blenny in my 30 gal and he is awesome to watch. Has a great personality. Might not be the prettiest fish in the tank but man can he have some fun. I have seen him eat all kinds of algae including the green hair algae.

I've had an Algae Blenny for some time and it has a great personality. As for it eating hair algae, I'm not sure about that, although mine will only eat all the algae off the LR and nothing else.

Have you considered a Sea Hair to take care of your hair algae problem?

Any tang in a tank that size would be miserable (not that I think you'd consider one in your tank). Clown tangs are said to go in no less than 150g, and not even yellows (which are said to require the least space) should go in anything less than a 50g. Just some info.

I think your blenny will come out more, although they can be somewhat shy fish. Most fish when adjusting to a tank hide and appear quite shy, he'll come around I'm sure in a few days.

He hides pretty good, I was looking at my tank and I don't see him anywhere... probably hiding in the rocks somewhere as they have good camouflage...
