AI Sol LEDs

Going to invest in 4 of these lights for my tank because of amazing depth penetration and spread of light.

Tank is 32" deep by 48" long x 36 wide. Outflow box in the middle and a sheet of glass about 9" separates the tank in the middle up top for stability.

Heard amazing things about these lights. My LEDs only get to a par rating of 80 on the bottom and the white lit is only 9k.

Any ideas?

They are absolutely amazing. My complete set for my 125 gallon tank is coming in tomorrow. I cannot wait to just play with all the features these LEDs have. Can't wait! You might be able to do away with 3 fixtures, but one more definitely cannot hurt.

Really? Ok well I have LEDS on the tank now. Two large units (Chinese generic). They have 55 bulbs 2 watts each in each unit.

The distance form the unit to sand bed is probably 36" deep. Water surface to sand bed is about 32" deep.

The white portion of my lights are only 9k, the blue 20. Corals are thriving BUT anemones (carpet on bottom) BTA mid range could always use more light.

The par rating at the bottom is only 80-90. Not enough.

I will be getting 4 of these lights.

Is this the light I need? Is the ecoray LED better (read it has better penetration then the AI sol).

I want to mimic a normal cycle of sunrise, intense, twilight, moonlight. I need par ratings of 200 on the bottom of the tank. I want the corals and anemones to thrive.

What do I buy?
Pretend money for lighting is not an issue. I want corals and anemones to excel. Water parameters are perfect. I know its my lights.

Advise....please.

If you want to mimic all those features. These lights are the way to go. I would get no less then 3 of these units with the AI controller and a way to mount them (whether or not you hang them or whatever). Actually with your different kind of dimensions 4 might be better like you orignally suggested. Maybe someone else can shed some light on how many you need for that sized tank and depth. You will also need the linking cables to link all the units together to coordinate with one another. Any other questions let ume know, I will be happy to answer if I know the answers lol. If not, somebody else will. Also, everyone will have different opinions on this.

I owuld need 4 I agree. My issue is whether this is the way to go or the ecoray 112D? That has crazy high par for deep tanks.

My PAR rating now is 80-90 at the bottom. What can i expect with AI SOL. Ecoray boasts par ratings of 250 at 36" deep etc.

Can too much par cook a coral as well? Can you have too much. I mean the ocean and the sun are absurdly high par.

From my experiance with the AI sols, you should only need three. I have three on my 125g tank, i realize its not as deep but i have them at 60% intensity and will not need to raise it at all. I have corals on the bottom of my tank and top and they are all thriving. Of course if you go with four of them it wont hurt but i dont see the need. For everything that you have listed you want out of your lights, go with the AI SOLs, the sunrise and sunset is amazing, and the lunar cycles is crazy how it mimics the calender year. Anycase i would highly recommend these lights, you will not be disappointed!!!

Going to go with 4 AI Sol's for my 200 gallon tank. Three wont be enough as it is essentially a cube and you need 2 on each side to get all corners.

I am really hoping it will get me well over 100 par at the bottom which is about 36" from light to sea bottom. The company says yes.

Im sick of these carpets not doing well because of light issues.

Good luck! Definitely post some pictures or I will threaten you by throwing squirrels at you like others have threatened me. Not sure where this whole squirrels thing came from but, YEAH lol. Hope it goes well, cannot wait to get home and see my package from Fedex with my AI's in there!

I will definitely post the pics once its done. Having a gorgeous purplr carpet start to go to crap because I had just inferior lights installed for anemone care is particularly irritating.

It was a huge purple specimen to boot. You just want to put your fist through a wall and strangle your dealer for not really doing his homework with lights. Actually the blame is me...you dont learn these things until you really get back into this hobby head first.
