advice needed ICH

SO my hippo has ich. I have been fighting it for a week and it started to get better but bloomed on her again. She is now scratching herself on the rock. Still eating and swimming and breathing fine though. My experience tells me the fish will die. Should I yank it out of the tank to avoid the parasites leaving her body and getting on the other fish or at this point are the others at risk already?

Thanks
Dave

Don't panic. This is a tang. Tangs do these things. How have you been fighting it?? How big is the tang, how big is the tank, and what are your perms????

salinity is 1025 and ph is 8.4

I am using metro and focus and garlic in their food and reef safe kick ich in the tank. I dont have a QT tank either so that option is out

tank is too small IMHO for that fish. It's not because of the size of the fish, it's because of the room needed for the hippo tang to roam. If you do the 125 you should be good to go. I do garlic in my food from time to time if I have an ichy fish and it works for me. I don't know about everyone else. I wouldn't think your other fish would be affected because they are probably comfortable with their environtment.

Tank is WAY too small for a Regal/Hippo Tang!!

Also, Recently saw a guy acclimate a hippo in the sump of his 210G, It got ich and died then his Purple tang, yellow tang and purple firefish that he had for quite a while all got ich. Not sure if they lived or not but the hippo did not.

If you don't have a QT tank than just keep planning on wasting your money and killing fish!
