adjusting to the light

Well I just bought my first SPS coral (Acro) two days ago. The coral was under just regular normal output fluorescents at the LFS, and they suggested gradually acclimating it to my MH. So now I have it near the bottom and was wondering how long I should wait before I begin moving it up some more. I have a 24 G w/ a 70W 14K MH. It is still looking great, and I don't want to kill it. Thanks in advance for the responses, I have to go to work in a minute but look forward to reading when I get home tonight

just watch it. If it is holding its color or improving its color you can move it up a little. in a few days to a week you can move it up again.......

you will find that every coral is different as far as where in the tank makes it the happiest as far as light goes. I dont mind moving a coral around until I find out what is too much.......as long as you do it slowly you can catch it before it really bleaches it and in the process find its optimum spot

I agree with Fly Guy, and that's about what I do too.

If I intend to keep a coral really low in the tank however, I normally don't really light acclimate at all.

Thanks, I may try to move it up for the first time tomorrow. Its been doing good so far, and its been 3 or 4 days now. So I should move it up a little, then wait another 5-7 days or so?
