Adding True Percula Clown Fish

I had a pair of True Percula Clown Fish in my aquarium and the smaller one died about 8 months ago and I was wondering could I add one or maybe more True Percula Clown fish to my aquarium? I also have a host anenome.

Thanks,
Kevin

What anemone do you have?

In smaller tanks (really anything under a couple hundred gallons), it can be a real challenge to have anything more than one pair of clowns. So you may have success adding one more, I'd stop there. If you look for the smallest percula clown that you can find, it's likely to not be sexually mature, which will greatly increase the chances of successfully adding it to the existing fish. Clowns are hermaphroditic, and the more dominant fish will take the role of female, so that's why it's a good idea to add the smallest fish you can find.

This is 100% true and I have done this! And they did pair up after 4 months of on going, over powering and claiming there territory.

My female died and the male was some what small so I went everywere trying to find a clown that was smaller then him. I got lucky with a women on E bay who had some and ship me one. Now after a year The once male clown I had before has become the female. You will see this because she will become the bigger fat clown. Who will be the boss of the other clown :-)
