Adding a sump/refuge

hi all,

thanks for all your help with my sump/refuge questions. i have built one and i am about to add it to the system.

i have a 75 gallon FOLWR (on its way to reefdom) the sump/refuge is a 20 gallon that will sit under the tank. My tank has a built in overflow that i will use. i made an outbox for the overflow to feed i have made most of the plumbing 1" PVC for most of the journey to and from. i just got a Mag 9.5... the distance going up is about 3.5 ft. i will be gettin LS and rubble later this week.

How should i add the sump/refuge to the system?
Should i just fill it up and let if go? or gradual? or ?

to make matters worse i need to move my tank about 4" away from teh wall to make it all work. so i will have to drain a fair amount of water out to move it. i was plannin on doin a 18-20 gallon water change then drain some more out to move it.... but i realized that after the water change, the move, and adding the sump/refuge that would be changing about 40ish gallons. how harmful would this be?

thanks
Steve

Steve just watch the temp of the new water and the ph and I would go for it let the water age a while before adding it though.
