Hey marco -

Not real sure where to get something that would be "marine rated" to put up with the humidity in a canopy, but sometimes that may not be necessary. What I've told some folks before is to check with some of the aftermarket car audio places for linear actuators. I used to work as an installer and we'd put those on various custom applications. I doubt that some of the larger chains would have them, but a good local shop should be able to help you out.

Good luck, and let us know if you find anything.

crvz,

I'd probably mount it up top, above the canopy.

i'm starting to think some kind of winch setup might be easier to build - but i'll be checking in @ northerntools later this afternoon & seeing if they have something for me.

poor boy doesn't want to strain to lift his wittle canopy?

Placenment of gas shocks is real crutial when working with them I bet if we played with the angle of those gas shocks a bit we could get good results, and all this automation would be unnessary. I will try to lend a hand this weekend on that
