They will regrow crowns.....when they are shed by stress. Not sure if they regrow when they get munched off I've had two feather dusters that have died in the last month. One was destroyed by my maroon clown, who got tired of it being too close to her bubble coral. The other, I believe died for lack of proper feeding.

i got a peppermint shrimp for aptasia. all the feather dusters i have are the small ones off of the lr and he got a taste for them. he was chewing holes through the side and pulling the worms out. he was knocking them down like a lawnmower. i finally caught the sucker and returned him to the store

Spam, We all tend to learn the lesson of 'THE CLAW' the hard way. Hermits, emeralds, Sallys, arrows, peppermints, and any other really cool critter with claws- all are opportunistic feeders. They may be perfect reef residents for you, while your neighbor suffers the claws from hell that eat and destroy every thing he cherishes most in his tank. Likewise, you may have no problems for years and then suddenly/unexplicably they go on a rampage. They are not to be totally trusted! Run some searches on the differant critters and you will see what I mean. Just be aware that if you choose to keep them, you may have to be prepared to make some sacrifices.

Peppermints = worm killer
No discrimination, they will eat all kinds of worms, including your giant tube worm, aka feather duster. I added two to rid aiptasia, which they did, AFTER eating EVERY spaghetti worm in the tank, and there were a lot.
sorry!
