ACII problems....

I have had my ACII for 7 months now, and I have had nothing but problems with it.
#1 Purchased it in March, and in May of 05, and in my I had to send it in to get repaired. The PH, ORP, and serial conections were not working. The said I had a power spike and it blew something inside the ACII. Which I am not rulling out. It was not pluged into a surge protector at this time.
#2 In September, I was seeing the same things incorrect PH and ORP; no Serial connection. This time it was pluged into a surge protector, I had to send it in again for repair.

In the meantime I have not been using it to control any x10 devices, just monitoring PH and ORP. I have been using Smarthome to control all my x10 devices. Which I do not have the functionality of turning devices on or off based on their condition, just time settings.

#3 Today I go to add all my devices in, and set up my timer program (did all this through the ACII which tool ~45 min...) 2 hours later I hear all my x10 devices clicking on and off, take a look at the ACII, and it reset itself. Showing a date of Jan 1 05...

#4 So again, asumed it was a fluke of some sort, took another hour setting the ACII up (after calling Neptune because it was not taking any of my changes) and no more than an hour later, my x10 devices are going crazy again, the AC reset itself.

Neptune's support is not the greatest, seems like all they want to do is get you off the phone.

I'm ready to dump the ACII and get something that is going to work without all the hastle. This POS dosn't even remembe rthe date and time when there is a power outage.

What are others using? I'd like to know what people recomend...

I should also add, I am running my lights off the DC heavy duty 4 way. (PFO ballasts)

All other devices are controlled through x10. spread across 2 20amp circuts.

i do not have a problem with mine. mine is 3 yrs old now, but i would not think that they would have changed anything.

since you have other X10 devices you prolly know most of the normal pitfalls of this technology.

does it matter if there is a battery in connected or not? do you have any stray electrical currents in the tank? i know mine i had some bizarre reading once when i had a pump go funky on me. have you tried running it without any of the sensors attached? if there is electrical problems in the tank, than this may help isolate the problem. if it works fine without any sensors than this may very well be your problem. hopefully this will give you some other things to try.
