achilles
Ok some of ya read about me getting the achilles, well he was eating like a pig on the bubble algae, and now its all gone, he was eating frozen along with it, but now there is no bubble algae left in the tank, and he is refusing to eat the frozen now, just keeps picking at the rock that was covered in the bubble, have also tried the romaine lettuce, refused that too. any suggestions, he doesnt look like he is starving yet but its been a week since i have actually seen him eat anything.

try some Nori, or else get some sea veggies. The thing with Romaine lettuce is that it is obviously not a natural food source and is therefore hard for fish to digest. I personally think that anything from the sea far outweighs anything from land as far as nutrients that the fish needs (natural diet). JMO

Yep, nori would probably be the best first bet. Soaking it in garlic may help.

if all else fails, can you take him back for credit? I'd hate for him to starve

Ok i'll pick up some nori, and yes my LFS is great about anything I need, he will give me credit if I take him back, and I will before I let him starve. I may not be the smartest guy, but I love my fish and will do what it takes to keep them alive even if it is return them. he just dont look like he is going without, but I really dont know what he would be eating. isnt acting out of the norm or anything.

I'm sorry to hear that, how strange!
I'm curious - why soak it in garlic? Just to play devil's advocate (aka stupid person who's new to all this), garlic isn't native to the ocean either, just like the argument about romaine. I've never heard of that before and it sounds really intriguing!

Yep, garlic isnt found in the ocean, but a chemical in it stimulates the appetite of fish. I forget which, though. You'll have to do your own research!
Selcon is another good additive, one of the few I employ.

I wanted one but I dont think he will get along with my Acanthurus triostegus (convict tang) or my Acanthurus japonicus (powder brown). they barely get along.
