AC 110 fuge

Hi,

I have a nano in the nano build off and have spent this week modding an Aquaclear 110 into a hob fuge....Why? Heck if I know...seems people like fuges. So as you can see I'm a newb.

SO guys and gals of TRT (I can use that term...as my son reminds me...I'm a "granoldie" LOL) So, why am I building a fuge? And what goes into it and why? What's the goal of a fuge. Is it just to grow pods and if so, should I just have chaeto and macro algae in it or do I need other stuff in there too.

My tank is BB.

Thank you for any help and answers to my completely newb Q's

we have a aquaclear 70 on a aquapod 24g at work. We put a small betta light on top, crushed LR on the bottom, and macro in it. We have tons of small pods in there now and it has impacted the nitrate level. You have to mod the aquaclear though. We used an impellar from the smallest aquaclear so the water flow was slow. Also used the parts that came with it to make a grate so the macro wouldnt flow out of it

Thanks guys,

I have already modded it. I put a screen over the outflow area and a side baffle to stop water rushing in to the fuge area. I haven't changes the impellar though. How do you do that..do you just swop over the little white fan blades or the whole magnet thingy? I have a smaller one but the magnet is way smaller.
