a lighting question

Hello All,

Ok, I'm upgrading from a 37g reef to a 90g tank, and am now considering the lighting.
The 37g tank is 23"deep and 30" long. I have a single 175wMH light over this tank, and have great light, maybe just under perfect lighting for the soft corals I have.
The 90g tank is 25"deep, and 48"long, I'm considering 2 MH lights for this. I was going to get 2 175wMH but for $20 more I can get 2 250wMH lights. My concern is that with 2 of them, it could be too much light and I could cook the corals, and have very few shady areas for corals that want less light. I'm curious to hear what you think would be good light.

Thanks
Chris

This will really depend on your corals. With propper acclimation, even the corals that need moderate-low lighting should do fine lower in the tank with the dual 250w MH bulbs. I wouldn't be worried about burning anything. If there is any risk, re-aquascape to put them in a shaddow.
