A DIY kind of day
Well, Today I managed to complete 3 projects.
I have been building an over the top cls which I managed to fit and glue today. I hooked it up to a mag 9.5 in the bathtub and it works pretty well.
Tomorrow, once i'm sure the cement is cured and the system is outgassed, I'll hook it up to the tank.
While I was testing the fit, a funny thing happened, I realized that the flexible tubing from my overflow box to my sump was keeping the cls from fitting right so I decided to re-plumb the overflows from my main tank and refuge with 1" thinwall pvc. I have to say that the pvc is soooooo much better than the flexible tubing. It flows at least as well as the flexi tubing, and it's cleaner looking. Sure I'll have to re-plumb if I ever move it, but I'd have to do that with flexi tubing as well. I can safely say that I'll never plumb that type of system with flexi tubing again.
Lastly, I built a spraybar out of 1/2" pvc with an mj 1200 on each end. It's about 24" with eight small holes in it. The flow is really strong and it's going to be placed behind my lr to push detritus forward.
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with my day's work. :-)

Lol, unfortunately I haven't bought a digicam yet. I have to borrow my boss's and he always wants to see the pics and it involves an hour long conversation about how some day he wants to set up his own tank...

Well, it's either a digicam or a mrc-1 skimmer, which would you recommend?
