90g Build Thread(pics)
I just picked up a 90g tank as an upgrade. I wanted to see what you guys think of what I have so far and what else if anything I should be doing.
Tank- 90g Perfecto RR
Stand- 48x18 Perfecto Pine
Sump- Oceanic Sump 2
Light- Current Extreme Pro 6x54w
Sand- 90lbs Aragonite Reef Sand(this includes 30lbs from current tank)
Salt- RC
Sump Pump- Mag 950
My plan is to get it up and running then add a ASM G3 skimmer

Sounds good so far just make sure you ditch the bio balls and get a good skimmer in your sump.

its a tank upgrade. I have a reef now and this will be a reef......hense the good t-5 fixture. I will have 800gph coming out of the overflow side. I am thinking a Koralia 3 on the other side. There are no bio balls. This is not the reef complete sump by Oceanic just the sump only. Bio Balls ew. I can barely say the words

Might want to go with two 3's or maybe two 2's. On my 75 gal I have 2500 gal worth of flow and the coral love it...thats about 30x the volume. I think some people would say 30x is a good aim.

it depends on what type of coral, I have almost 70x turnover, looks like it will be a nice set-up but I would definitely get more than just 1 Koralia 3 to supplement flow, even if you went with 2 Koralia 3's you would still be under 30x turnover

Nice start i have a 90 as well and i love it. I do agree that you will need to increase the flow eventually adding another powerhead or two. Have fun.....
