Some Rock Salt
A few Big Chunks Of Lava Rocks
And some Water Out the tap !
O and a Bag of clown fish !

Am i Rdy ?






Ok Equipment Listing.

75 Gal RR tank
Largeish Proten Skimmer. ( SealifeSystems )
An 8 Blub T5 HO Light with a Single Reflector
Stand
Rubbermade Sump
120 Sand (Fine Grain)
3-4 PHs
Some kinda return pump

All i am missing is
Water .
Rock .
Canopy.

My question is Should i take the 8 bulbs out there case and put ind reflectors on em ?

Hey there! I'm gonn be the first to follow along here.

Everyone I talk to says individual reflectors are the way to go. What brand did you get? You probably won't have to use all eight bulbs on the 75 gal. Or at least I don't

Water: Give me two/three days and come get my RO/DI unit for a day or two.

Will T5 lights give out more light with individual reflectors? Yes.
Is your light fixture enough for your 75 with a single reflector? Having seen that light fixture, yes.

Set the system up, get it running, then you can order individual reflectors for it later.

Congrats on the new tank Ben. Is the lighting a stock fixture with just one reflector in it? If so I would think it might be fairly difficult to rip that out and replace it with individuals in the fixture. However, if you are planning on building a canopy then you could tear that fixture apart, and use all of the guts and bulbs and retrofit it into the canopy with individual reflectors.

Gest of luck with whatever you decide, and I will be tagging along as well.

That is what would have to happen. Gut the fixture and install it into a canopy with individual reflectors. They sure wouldn't fit in the fixture they are in now, it is very packed.

Congrats Ben...BTW, i have a Hydor return pump that i can let go cheap.. at 4' if flows like 275 GPH... and it's fairly quiet.

I love the "Bucket O Stuff" I have those all over my house. I think that fixture would be fine over a 75. Regardless of the reflector that's a lot of light over a "not so deep" tank
