6 Line Wrasse and Leopard Wrasse

I got a Leopard Wrasse about 3 to 4 months ago. I just added a 6 line wrasse maybe a good 2 months after the Leopard Wrasse. Everybody was getting along just fine until I noticed I wasnt seeing the Leopard Wrasse around at all. I thought he maybe he was dead or something. I did some inspecting and found that he jump out of the tank in to my 10gal Fuge, talk about luck. I put him back into the main tank and the 6 line wrasse treats the Leopard Wrasse like he insulted his mother. This 6 line wrasse is kicking the Leopard Wrasse butt up and down the tank and I dont know why. The Leopard Wrasse will bury himself in the sand for days but when he comes out it's 6 line wrasse butt kicking time. What could have caused this dispute if they have been getting along great for a few months. The Leopard Wrasse is alive but is in hiding. What should I do?

Once the leapord left the tank the 6 line took over the reef for his own. Putting the leapord back was like introducing a new fish to the 6's home. IMO I would keep the leapord and ditch the 6--They can be mean little sob's!

On another note---Differant species of wrasse's really dont tend to live together in harmony......If you would like to keep more then one---I would try the flasher---I believe you can keep male/female or male/w/group of females...HTH

Tracy is right those little lined guys can be mean

if you want to give it another try I suggest removing the 6 line for a few weeks then reintroducing
also maybe rearrange the rock a bit

What do you think the best way is to catch him...it's a pain in the neck with out moving everything in the tank to catch one fish,lol.....a fish trap maybe?

I;ve never tried a real (store bought) trap but have had bad luck with using bottles and things... maybe too impatient

either way I'd say he's too small to go fishing
I've been able to catch clowns in a full reef with a net because they are food hogs
and got a pseudochromis by taking the rock he was in out...

I'd say give to trap a shot... they are clever though!
hope someone has other ideas

I have never had luck catching any wrasse fish---they are quick!---I once caught a yellow coris with one of those clear tube traps from marine depot. It took 3 days but I got him----

OK, ill try and figure something out. Worse case is the Leapord Warsse is going to have to stand his ground.

Trust me on this one---He wont. I would bet the bank that the 6 line is his reason for taking the leap of faith in the first place. 6's are much more aggressive and territorial then the leapord. Best of Luck!
