But whats first Butch, I'm I right in the order to put water, then LS, then LR, and is there any wait time in between. My LFS has nice LR, what makes Reefscience so good. My LFS is That Fish Place.

http://www.thatpetplace.com/LiveRock...ck/Search.aspx

Here's a link to there LR, are the prices any different?

You can do both the sand (rinse it very well) and the rock at the same time. If you were planning on buying all live sand, save your cash and just get a cup or two from an established tank to seed it. For the live rock, use PVC risers to keep it out of contact with the sand. The curing time for the rock is generally two months. It may be quicker but be patient and wait it out. The longer you wait the better for the soon to come critters. Dont use any animals to cycle the tank, its cruel and everything you need is on the rock. Many people like to add something to boost the cycle, not needed at all. Just be patient and let the tank do its natural thing! Its the hardest part, you do all this great work, get everything set up and ready and then.......nothing......and more nothing. BUT as the cycle goes along, youll see litlle things peeking out of the rock, thats a realy cool part!
Youve doen a great job on the whole thiong so dont tarnish it with impatience!

looks good and can't wait to see the pictures with water.

just make sure the SG , Temp is at the place You will keep it then put the live rock and live sand in, if You are using dry sand then putit is and let it settle before You put the live rock, Like robert said , Take your time and don't hurry. That is the most common problem is rushing things.

The guy at the LFS said to save my money on LS, he said get regular substrate and then add this (stuff), that he said was the bacteria thats found in the LS. I was in a hurry so a didn't catch the name of the product. It was in a frig and was a small silver packet. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Also I'm probably gonna get cured fiji LR, that way it doesn't take so long. Also they said that the other LR that isn't cured looses alot of goodies during shipping and than you have to cure it but it won't be as good.

Is there a big difference in LR? What's the best?

What ever rock You get , Let it do some curing in the tank, You will have die off. The stuff they sell as cured is more then likely ship in newpaper and a box, wet, It will have some die off, and It may even be transhipped and have been in the box for days.

Thanks Vinnie and don't worry I have all the patience in the world. I'm happy just learning stuff for now.

Oh yeah one more question. How loud do you think this tank is gonna be. (see specs) I have it in my bedroom, I won't care but my wife might not like it if its noisy?

Well , I have to say with your set up which will have a very good flow, The tank will make some noise. You will get use to it. It don't take time to adust. Your wife will also. I have alot of tanks in our family room and we don't really notice, You will get good at knowing the sounds when something is not right. I can hear it from upstairs in our bedroom at night.

Ditto on what Vince said about the noise. I have woken up before when a sound changed in the tank.
For the rock, get the most porous you can like Tonga or Marshall Island. This will have more surface area for the beneficial bacteria to grow. Fiji is great rock but not necessarily the the most porous. Also dito on what Vince said about cured vs. uncured.

Finally...I got to get more items for the tank!!!!!

I just got my tax return back!! So here's the update....

First I bought an RO unit (50 GPD no pump) and Instant Ocean salt.

I didn't like the pressure I was getting in my hose so luckily the unit was still unopened and I returned it for this one.

I also got some other goodies I needed like a hydrometer and a Ebo 200W heater.
