Thanks Tony.
I have to epoxy some sand to the foam yet but its already taking really nice shape. The background weighs 26 lbs so I still have about 30 lbs of rock for the left side of the tank. It will have a DSB to cover the eggcrate on the bottom. A few holes for fish and flow and LOTS of places for coral!

Looking good Jake... Tell me if you want the stand painted... If the tank isn't filled yet I can just take it to work with me and I can Blast it as well as Paint it (being I am a painter). I'd just stay a few mins late one night and I could have it painted and dried and ready to take home that same day. Either that or I could bring some equipment by your house some sand paper scuff it down really well and just paint it by your house with my stuff.
Tell me if you'll need some help.

I also have to add that this is giving me a LOT of ideas on what to do with that 26 gallon tank that I got from F&S. As many of you know coming up with ways to display frags in a small tank is difficult and by having the whole back wall to display them that should make putting more of them in there a heck of a lot easier!

Thanks Chris. I will have more pics by Thursday. I have to go get a new band bus tomorrow.
I plan In building a new sump and a new canopy by the end of this weekend. So I will have pics of all that good stuff as soon as I get it done.
I trimmed the back of my background and it fits nicely up to the back wall of the tank. I threw it in the tank and put some light over it and it looks just great, even without the epoxy and sand. I will have to recure this rock but it should be worth it. I'll try to get pics of that later.

Thanks Jason. I thought about painting it. It seems like you could get it done right, but I just painted the canopy to match the stand and tank.
If it doesn't look good I will call you for sure. I am going to start the curing for the foam/rock background asap. It should be epoxied and sanded by this weekend. I haven't been too impressed with the paint but everybody that comes over really likes it.......so they say.
Sorry about the pics I spent all day yesterday buying a bus for the band and all day today kickin its butt into a touring machine! yeah! Maybe I'll post pics of this project too. hehehe. Its so cool. gotta play tomorrow in Romance Valley so Friday I will be filling the tank and starting to cure/cook my background.

Sorry all, this is the busy week for the band. We play 7 shows between the 10th and the 20th. I have my background curing, I painted the canopy, (be painting the stand when I get back) I made some reflectors for my MH. I might make some new ones out of better aluminum. I will update pics and fill in more by Monday. Hopefully!!

Ok I know its now Wednesday. I had a really long last week but I have gotten a lot of work done now that I'm back in town. I painted the stand and fineshed the reflectors. tonight I will mount the reflectors and sockets, Fill the tank, and get cycling. When I get home tonight I will get pics of the stand and the canopy all painted with reflectors mounted. I still have to paint the wall behind the tank, thats the GFs idea, I really dont care. But Im sure it will look a lot nicer.

Just an update here. First, the tank holds water great. which is a change from my last tank. HA HA. not so funny when your cleaning it up but hey whatever right. I did have some bulkhead leaks right away, but both bulheads where leaking so I knew it was my fault and quickly fixed it. I actually like this new tank a lot better. I get to use the whole footprint, no bulky overflow box. Plus the old tank the overflow was on the left, and you could see it from that side view. Now you cant. love it!.
Last night I tested the water and everything is checking out great. It was almost the same as my holding tank with all my livestock, which atcually finaly finished its cylce after adding everything I have to it 2 months ago. Looks good to but everything is just PACKED in. I have been to sick and busy to post pics lately and no promises but maybe I'll get a stocking list and some livestock pics and pics of the new tank as is later today. So lets hope for a good Friday and not much work to be done today.

So I'm finally getting up off my butt and posting some updated pics.
First is the pic of the stand painted.
Second is the canopy with the MH installed. (The open back is going to hold a 4 bulb T-5 fixture.)
Third is Zelda approving the new baffles for the sump.

a few more
1. The leak test....... before I knew I had bulkhead problems! Glad thats fixed.
2-3. And the sump. With a borrowed Acua C skimmer. Thinkin about mesh-modin the CL superskimmer 125. I wish I could afford a decent skimmer right now. Oh well...
4-5. Some tank shots as of now.
