You will want to definetly get more powerheads. If you point one of the powerheads up to the surface to agitate the water, you will not need the penguin power filter. If you continue to use the penguin you should take the bio wheels out. they are nitrate factories.

I think that you will need a good protein skimmer (go with the highest you can go) and no filter (this will trap all the nutrient later. Also a sump is good since you can hide lots of things from the main display and also easy for top off as well as increasing the total volume of water ==> more stable water parameter. Also a RO/DI 3 stage filter for water top off. I used the tap with condition before and my tank had lots of algae until i changed to RO/DI water.
your light system depends on what corals you want to keep.

Need a litlle more info! What kind of skimmer? What kind of lights? What is your goal for the tank?
The crushed coral can be an issue without very regular cleaning. It traps detritus and can create issues. But thats not to say it will for sure be an issue. All of your filtration comes from the bacteria on the rock. The skimmer removes disolved solids. thats all you need. I would sugest more Live Rock and a very good skimmer if the one you have isnt that great.
As said above a sump is a great addition and allows for many additions that help the overall condition of the tank, plus its a great place to keep unsightly things like heaters etc..
Also, you dont need all kinds of addatives. Regular water changes replace trace elements and anything that may be depleted over a couple of weeks time. If you do add anything, dont add what you cant test for.
So tell us everything you can about what you have and what you want!!!!!
And, WELCOME to TRT! This is a great place to get all the info you need and there are really great folks around here!
