54 gallon bowed front tank hood

Glass canopies don't work for me. They always crack on me even when the lights are shimmed up. I have my power compacts now shimmed away from the open top on the tank. I need help!!!
I can't suspend them from the ceiling(vaulted celings) because it throws off my center point. Suggestions for closed hoods or anything.

Thank God I found this sight. I have been walking pretty much aimlessly through 4 years of reef keeping with less than stellar results. I need help! All of the locals have pretty much been shut down by Petsmart when they moved in. Ironically enough, the Wal-Mart of pet stores doesn't handle salt.

I take it that you are looking for a "bow front" hood LMK and I'll try and post some instructions for ya. Are you handy in wood working? Tools?

54 Corner tank?

If hanging from the ceiling is not an option, how about from a bracket on the wall... like something that you'd hang a planter basket from?

Corner tanks are a devil to filter and light.... but they are beautiful when they are done right.

Oh and where are my manners? WELCOME to TRT!

So Jenn, are ya rhyming??

That would be an option, just as long as you find the stud to attach it to, or you can run a board across two studs and attach the bracket to it. I admitt it would not look purty, but if done right!!

thanks for the advice. I would love to fit a DIY hood, but I can't find any blueprints for one. Any suggestions on that?

Now how would you make a wood hood for a bow front. Make a template for the arch you want then put the main piece of wood on it with high humidity and weight? I am just wondering because I have a 72 Gal. Bow front and have the plastic hood for it. Might want a wood one so I can easily put Metal Halides in.
