40 Gallon Stocking List, Ok or No?

Gold Band Maroon Clownfish
Six Line Wrasse
Royal Gramma

Should be fine.....you could also look at blue green chromis, yellow clown goby, firefish, neon pseudochromis, or some cardinals (Pajama or Bangaii) for someother option as well!

Ya, that's fine, though I think you could add another fish or two if your filtration system is up to it. There all rather aggressive fish though, so it would have to be something that can stand up to the pack

i have found w/ clowns...at least all the ones I've kept is they are very docile until they have a host.

They get mean and territorial immediatly after hosting w/ something. My clowns could care less about my hand in the tank. I get them an anemonee and BAM two days later there are attacking my hand. This has been for many clowns I have had and different ones as well!

The gold strip seems to be the more agressive of the others too!

Mine attack anything within a 6" radious of their Leater (they host in that) if something is farther away they could care less.

Mine are Percs though; Maroons tend to be far more aggressive as 110 said.

Well my last maroon in my 110 was the same in the fact he was only concened w/ me when I was about 6-8" from his anemonee. He however, started knocking over ANYTHING new I'd put into the tank! After about two happy years though. It could be the size of a softball and he go to work on it w/in minutes!

This got old so he went back to the LFS.

Then I got a perc.....he was concerned with me about anywhere and even bit me a few time and broke skin.....he went back to the LFS very quick! I know have another maroon gold strip and he seems to not mind me too much except when very close to his anemonee!

In the 10 gallon, he has nipped me to! He doesn't care for me much at all. I try to clean w/ the mag float to avoid bites!

I have a maroon now. I really like clowns but,,, I think the next tank I set up will be 4 or 5 Firefish, maybe some clown gobies. I'm really starting to get the idea of a spieces tank. I've kept salt since 1981. The smaller the fish, generally, the more peaceful, easier to care for, all the same food and habits. IMO

unless it is a very special eater, or very aggresive then mony fish can coexist.

My fish all get along w/ eachother, just not me for some reason
But a species specific setup can be sweet!

Do a COLD water tank for your species specific!

Or you can add all three at the same time as well!
