40 gallon breeder lighting

Im setting up a 40 gallon breeder for sps and clams and had a question about the lighting. I have a 150HQI 10k and am trying to decide if this is going to be enough or if i need to go with 2, one for each side since the tank is 36" long. If i go with 2 10k's will i need to add antic supplements? I saw the difference between MH and MH+and antics...I saw no difference.

HELP ME DECIDE PLEASE

ThANK YOU
WILLIAM

Two would be the way I would go for the coverage. As far as the actinic, that is a matter of taste to a point. The coral will use the light from the actinic but alot of actinic use is for our personal enjoyment. The spectrum of bulb you choose for the MH will dictate what kind of effect the actinic has. 10,000k will be whit to yellowish depending on make of bulb, the higher the spectrum the "bluer the light.

I got a killer of a deal on these ice cap ballasts(new style) so it wont cost too much to get the extra one...I saw a 40 breeder with a single 150 in the center and there was terrible shady spots on the sides...With these lights I will hopefully be able to keep anything i want. With 300w of 10k's i dont think that the antics would make that much difference unless the wattage is high.I will post pics as soon as I get it up.Thanks for looking!!

The actinics will help to show the colors of the coral. With the tank being 16"high youll be great with that wattage.

I run 1x250 on my 40B and it does great. I'd guess 2x150 would be darn near what mine looks line. Don't worry about actinics unless you just like the look.
