Mine is actually bigger when I have the second cyclinder on it. Like I said all I need is an alita 40 mod for the recirc pump. I think it will boost air injection up to 3200lph at 8 feet of head. Ill see if I can find a pic of it all together.

There are much bigger skimmers out there, I saw one once that was 20 feet tall and 6 feet in diameter and had a 50hp air pump feeding the recirc pump.

I only did it 3 buckets tall. Its out there somewhere. I think a search for "welp here it is" will grant you a picture.

Its almost silent... The loudest part is the air intake for the venturi. I put a muffler on it. Its a wiffle ball with 2 socks and a rag wrapped around it. Its working for now. My goal is to have the system be as close to silent as I can get it. I'm going use a no weir calfo C2C over flow and a bean's full syphon drain. Right now the only thing that really makes any noise is the 25 year old chiller and its only about 45 to 50db.

I was thinking though, it is prolly the biggest HOB skimmer ever made.

Tony, I would have liked for it to have been a good DIY thread but since I don't have internet and this blackberry is such a PITA I didn't take very many pictures for everyone to see.

This is the only picture I could dig up of both chambers attached. As you can see it is incomplete.

Doing another 10 gallon water change today and lowering my MH another 1.5 inches. The halide is now 7 inches from the surface of the water, it started at 15 inches above the water.

I think I am not happy with my switch to IO salt and I will definatly be going back to coralife next time I buy a bucket.

The coraline growth has almost stopped on my new growth areas and slowed down in dense growth areas.

I just offered my candy coral a piece of silverside... I don't think its going to take it. It did react like it does when I feed it mysis and after I placed it in the coral I realized I cut it a little large.

Yup it spit it out. I'm going to try a smaller piece as soon as it opens again.

I did another 5 gallon water change.

Skunk cleaner is still hiding. It keeps moving from one side of the bottom of the rock structure to the other.

The candy coral has eaten 2 pieces of silverside. I'm going to feed it again tonight when it comes out.

I noticed two pieces of bubble algae growing on a rock. They are almost clear and about 1/8th inch in diameter.

I am also getting more algae on my glass than I had expected. I still don't have any on the rocks but there are some pretty good sized patches near where the power heads are. Its brown... But if you shine a flash light on it it has a very small tint of green almost metallic looking.

Any ideas about this?

I have never run a BB tank for any lenth of time so this is a new one to me. I also don't have any kind of algae sraper (I got one from walmart but it is too weak to use it just falls off when I move it) but where I wiped the front panel off by hand there is no algae growing.
